Epaminondas Mitronikas was born in Agrinio, Greece in 1973. He received the diploma of Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Patras in 1995 and his PhD  in 2002 from the same department. He has been on the faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Patras since 2003.

He is currently an assistant Professor at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Patras, Greece.

Academic - Teaching Activity:

From February 1996 until June 1998 he assisted the laboratory classes of the following courses: Electrical Machines I (6 hours/week), Electrical Machines II (6 hours/week), Power Electronics II (3 hours/week) and from October 1998 until February 2000 he assisted the laboratory classes of the course of Power Electronics I.

Form february 1996 he is co-supervising diploma theses in the Laboratory of Electromechanical Energy Conversion, Faculty of Electrical and computer Engineering, University of Patras, Greece in the areas of electric drives and microcomputer controlled power electronic converters for electric drive systems.

From November 2006 he has been supervising diploma theses, according to the Program of Studies of the Faculty.

From February 2004 he is teaching the courses: "Electrical Machines Ι", "Electrical Machines ΙΙ", "Power Electronics", "Electric Drive Systems".

From September, 2006 until February 2010 he is teaching the postgraduate course: "Small Electric Motors - Structure and Control".

From September 2010 he is teaching the course: "Advanced Control of Electrical machines".
