Papathanasopoulos Dimitrios (Dipl. Eng.) was born in Patras, Greece in 1989. He received the diploma of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2013 from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of Patras. He fulfilled his master degree in Energy and Environment at the Department of Physics of the University of Patras in 2016, first of the graduating class. Currently, he is a PhD candidate in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of Patras at the Laboratory of Electromechanical Energy Conversion. His current research interests include both the drive system and the auxiliary systems of electric vehicles. In his diploma thesis, he implemented the drive system of an electric bike, while in his master diploma thesis he developed a prototype for controlling electrochromic windows, which can be incorporated in a vehicle or building to reduce the cooling demands. Electrochromic windows belong to the extended category of renewable energy systems. By participating in two research programs, he got experience in remote control of automated systems, which provide reliable operation combined with the lowest possible energy consumption. In addition, he faced problems related with the management of low-power systems.
